This clever photoshop makes the diner out to be an aquarium, complete with colorful fish.

American Flagg

This comic comes from the American Flagg strip by artist Howard Chaykin. The diner is actually named "Nighthawks" here.

Afterwards

This 3D representation of the diner is titled "Afterwards and is by Garvin Hicking.

Mos Eisley

Another Star Wars parody. This one names the diner "Isley's" and has a landspeeder parked out front. This was from a Star Wars themed photoshop contest at www.worth1000.com.

More Art

Another interpretation featuring various other works of art mixed in with the original Nighthawks painting. I do not recall where I got this but I did save this description when I saved the picture:

This is a combination of different works of art. Most noticeably, the setting is the same from "Nighthawks" by Ed Hopper. Other paintings thrown in there include Matisse's "Red Room", the obvious Mona Lisa, Van Gogh's "Starry Night", Munch's "Scream", and the melting clocks from Salvador Dali's "Persistence of Memory". I also threw myself in there too ;P 18x24 canvas, acrylic paint.

Batman

These frames are from the "Batman: Year One" comic, drawn by David Mazzucchelli. Commissioner Gordon and his lover meet at "Hopper"s diner.

Silent Hill

The characters from the videogame/movie "Silent Hill" appear at the diner in this parody.

2007

This cartoon as done in 2007 to show how the diner would be today, with some thugs fighting.

Last Call

Artist Colleen Coover did this Ink illustration with Photoshop grey tones for a January 31, 2007 issue of Seattle weekly paper "The Stranger". A client requested a simulation of the Nighthawks painting.

Frazz

This is from the "Frazz" comic strip by Jef Mallett.

Lonely

I dont remember where I got this one from. It is a sketchy image of some people at the diner. Im guessing the artist put himself and someone he knows in it.

Art

This photoshopped image features the diner as a host to a very nice assortment of other famous paintings and artwork.

God's Gym

The book "God's Gym" by van Leon de Winter has this image on the front in which the "gym" is shown in teh same style as the original painting.

Common Grounds

Comic artist Rodolfo Migliari did this work for the comic book series "Common Grounds". This is the cover of issue 4.

Casablanca

This photoshop places the bar in the classic movie "Casablanca" with the diner named "Phill's Cafe American".

Space Bar

Another "diner in space" parody. I do not know who did this one.

Barnyard

Andreas von Baudissin is a German freelance graphic designer, and he created this barnyard interpretation as part of his "Joe Haflinger & Chickenduck" series.

This one comes from the German "Moasik Comics", issue 322 and has three characters from the series at the diner with the attendant looking like the one from the actual painting.

Blood Ties

In a comic book titled "Blood Ties" by Hermann Huppen, there is a small frame that has the diner in it with a more modern background and a car,

Little

In this quick photoshop, the diner has now become "Little Phillies" and the patrons are all photoshopped to be barely able to see over the counter.

Futurama Comics

This one comes form a comic book by Simpsons creator Matt Groening. The comic is titled Bongo's Futurama Comics, and this is from issue #33. It features the characters from the comic at the "Microverse" Diner.

Sesame Street 2

Another Sesame Street parody. I do not know who this one is by. The diner is now shown as "Morgan 17".

New Yorker

This was the cover of the New Yorker millennium issue. The restaurant patrons all have their party hats on.

Lenny's

Artist Julia Hulme did this interpretation featuring her style of animals and bright colors.

Seinfeld

This one has the cast of Seinfeld at the diner which is now named "Monk's".

Tom's Diner

This one confuses me a bit. The webmaster of http://www.dont-panic.net describes it as "a tribute to Hopper, Schlemmer and Vega". It is titled Tom's Diner.

McHoppers

In this slightly creepy spoof, the diner has been turned into a McDonalds with a bunch of Ronald McDonalds inside.

Playmobil

This modeled version was done using the popular children's toys called "Playmobil. The Diner is called "Phill 'R' Us".

Elephant

This homage was done by artist Alexander Rinesch. Alex is known for his characters Mouse ”Cheese“, elephant ”Little“ and cat ”Sugar“. They became popular as ”Free Cheese & Company“ and are depicted having dinner at the diner here. The shop across the street has lots of stuff in the window.

Night "Hawks"

In a more literal interpretation, this photoshop parody has actual hawks at the diner. A mouse acts as the attendant.

Mark Kostabi

Famous artist Mark Kostabi painted a few versions of the diner one year prior to teh "bouldvard of Broken Dreams" homage. They all feature his iconic style of white silhouette figures placed in the scene.

His first is called "Greenwich Ave". I found two versions of this.





His second is called "Hell Cafe", and has a red-ish tone to the whole painting.

Hip Hop

This one was found at a flea market somewhere. In the style of the "Boulevard of Broken Dreams", it has 4 deceased famous rappers sitting at the diner. It was uploaded to flickr by user holdmyhiland.

Second Life

This is another 3D version created for the online game "Second Life. The game lets you create yourself in a virtual world and interact with other people from around the real world. This recreation of the scene can evidently be found in some place called the "Primtings Museum".

O'brian

Here is another humorous photoshop take on the painting. This one has a new diner opening in the building across the street with all the usual patrons from the original over there and the waiter left to be lonely in his own diner.

Cowboy Bebop

Here is one featuring the cast of the popular Japanese Anime Cartoon "Cowboy Bebop". I do not know the character names as I do not watch the show myself.

For Sale

Another humorous photoshop. This one has the diner closed with metal shutters over the windows and a "for sale" sign out front.

Santa

This was evidently a Christmas greeting card done by Hudson Talbot. It has Santa and some of his reindeer at the snow-covered diner. Christmas decorations adorn the windows in the background building.

Legos

I dont know the original creator of this one but this has been around the internet for a while now. It is a recreation of the famous scene, done in Lego form.

Goofy's Greasy Spoon

This is a Disney parody that is currently on display at both Disneyworld and Disneyland. IT can be found in Minnie's House along with other various Disneyed-up paintings. It has Donald Duck, Mickey and Minnie and Goofy as the attendant. The diner's name has been changed to "Goofy's Greasy Spoon" and there is an anvil and safe company across the street.

Art Of War

Artist Rick Veitch did this work, which is a cover for a DC comic called The Art Of War. This image appears on the second issue. The diner setting is apparently supposed to be Iraq and the name is now "Hussein's". Three soldiers are at the counter with the waiter replaced by a prisoner with a bag over his head. Trash litters the streets and all of the windows are broken out.

Here is a pretty humorous one which has the couple standing outside with the caption "You said they'd be open!". It was done by artist Joe Dator.

Waiting

This one is titled "Waiting for Edward" and is by artist JG Freedman. Freedman says "In the original, a man (often said to be Hopper, himself) sits at the counter next to a red headed woman. I moved the clock back to the time before he arrives and added a bull terrier to keep the readhead company".

Halloween

This one is a haloween spoof with an invisible man along with Frankenstein and his bride. The windows in the background building are all filled with Jack-O-Lanterns.
