Anteater

This one takes Banksys homage and replaces the drunk English man with an anteater that is widely known around the internet and the subject of many parodies itself.

NightMuppets

This photoshop was done by user "lolsurfer" for a www.worth1000.com photoshop contest. It is called "NightMuppets" and has characters from the Muppets/Sesame Street.

Mutts

I believe this is a German book. It is called "Mutts" and is by Patrick McDonnell.

This one comes from flickr user "wytrab8" and is titled "NightRabbits". Humanoid rabbits star in Hillary White's version of Nighthawks.

Ranma

This parody comes from deviantart.com from a user named "~sv-chan". It is a Nighthawks parody using characters from the Ranma 1/2 Jaoanese anime cartoon(left to right: Kuno with the legendary pheonix, Ryoga, Nabiki, Ukyo).

Dance

No idea where this came from. It shows someone dancing and 4 other people watching from an outline of the diner.

Rockos Modern Life

These are from the cartoon "Rocko's Modern Life" that used to air on the kids channel Nickelodeon.

The first two are from season 1, episode 12, called "Who's for Dinner". The diner is actually called "Nighthawks Diner".



The other one is from season 4, episode 11, called Hypno Puppy Luv.

NY Nighthawks

As part of a www.worth1000.com photoshop contest, user "MrXegil" created this photoshop of the diner covered in graffiti as it would probably be in today's New York.

Reidsrow

This one is unknown where it comes from. The caption reads "With apologies to Mr. Hopper". It is basically a black and white interpretation of the painting.

Birds

This is another example of actual birds at the diner, done by www.worth1000.com user "Method" as part of a photoshop contest.

This is called "Cafe Hadleys" by Frank Bürmann. I have no idea what is going on here. It looks like a very random mess of childrens toys left outside the diner.

Tip

This is the cover of Berlin's "Tip Magazine", from November of 2001. It shows the top candidates for the city council elections in Berlin: Klaus Wowereit (SPD)-[the new mayor], Dr. Frank Steffel (CDU) [outside, because loosing the elections], Gregor Gysi (PDS), Günter Rexrodt (FDP) and Sybille Klotz (Grüne). The diner has changed names to "Kumpelnest".

Hussel

This one is evidently from a Calendar from the Hussel company. It has a christmas theme to it. The diner is shown mirrored and a young girl works as the attendant. There are christmas decorations in both the diner and the background buildings. Four Santas sit at the counter.

The Blue Jukebox

Chris Rea did this interpretation called "The Blue Jukebox". The viewing angle is mirrored and the diner now has a more blue tone to it. There is a jukebox in the corner as well.

This comic frame was part of something else that I dont know where it was from. It was done by Götz Wiedenroth and has German text in it.

Heidmarks

No idea about this one. It was done by sabine asi-ais and has a sketch recreation of the painting with some real life people photoshopped in.

Grand Opening

This version by Kleines Arschlochs is titled "GRAND OPENING TONIGHT !" and is from the book 'Arschloch in Öl' (Litte Asshole in Oil) by Walter Moers. There is a little character behind the counter waiting for the customers that are not coming.

I have no idea what this one is from. It appears to be a cartoon of some sort with the caption in spanish.

McNighthawks

Insomniacs

This one is titled "Insomniacs" and was part of a worth1000.com photoshop contest and was done by user "ClumsyJuggler". This one has a few other works of art mixed in with the Nighthawks painting, including the famous "American Gothic".

"Party at Hopper's Place" is another www.worth1000.com photoshop contest entry, done by user "gerace". In it, there are many characters from other famous paintings all seated at the diner. The diner name has been changed to "Hoppers".

This one comes from artist Dietmar Henneka. It is a photomontage that brings the diner into the modern world, complete with a Mercedes parked outside. The diner is now "Edward's".

Aqua

Yet another take on the underwater theme. This is called " It’s Not Time To Go Out" and is by artist Pascal Lecocq. This time some divers are at the diner, which has been renamed "Hopper", and a shark swims by outside.

Anime

This one is a pretty good photoshop that has some of the characters from the Anime cartoon "Azumanga Daioh".

Baghdad

Baghdad's Boulevard of Broken Dreams is by artist Matt Chisholm. It is "a humorous look at the last day of Saddam's regime. Saddam contemplates his fate as he downs some tequila shooters". An American tank has just smashed through a building in the background. The diner is now "Al Saddam's".

Powers

This one was done for the cover of the comic "Powers: Roleplay", by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, 2001, Image Comics.

This is the second Powers trade paperback collection. Powers stories revolve around two homicide detectives in a city where superheroes and supervillains battle it out on a daily basis. The heroes specialize in cases involving these superpeople.

Musicians

This was done by artist E. Allen Warren as a commissioned piece for a client who wanted a bunch of famous musicians at the diner.

Atlantic Monthly

This was the cover of the magazine "Atlantic Monthly" from an unknown month. Uncle Sam and the Statue of Liberty are at the counter in the diner.

Frog

This funny photoshop has a giant green frog crawling through the diner. I dont know where this one came from.

Religion

I dont know the back story to this one as I found it on a foreign language site. It was done by artist Cédric Tanguy though. It has a very large assortment of random things going on in the background a very religious theme to the diner with stained glass windows and a cross. The Diner's name has been changed to "Deborah" too.

Fish

Another take on the aquarium idea, this time making the fish on the outside in their water filled world, looking at the people in the diner.

This one is called "Dinner's Done!" and was done as part of a www.worth1000.com photoshop contest by pdayjr. It shows the diner as being cloesd with all of the lights out.

The Tick

This one comes from the animated cartoon "The Tick". and has the Tick sitting at the counte rwith his back to us. This was found on flickr and uploaded by user "Hansarde".

Spacehawks

Another recreation of the diner in space. This one is by Reimund Bertrams. He says "People who will live in Earth's orbit will have the same interests that we have today – also after work. I want to show the little human side of space living, and the famous painting of Mr. Hopper seems perfect for my intention".

More Art

Another interpretation featuring various other works of art mixed in with the original Nighthawks painting. I do not recall where I got this but I did save this description when I saved the picture:

This is a combination of different works of art. Most noticeably, the setting is the same from "Nighthawks" by Ed Hopper. Other paintings thrown in there include Matisse's "Red Room", the obvious Mona Lisa, Van Gogh's "Starry Night", Munch's "Scream", and the melting clocks from Salvador Dali's "Persistence of Memory". I also threw myself in there too ;P 18x24 canvas, acrylic paint.
